Lake Balboa
Lake Balboa dwells in the San Fernando Valley and has a reputation for a recently developed neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It has an artificially-made lake and is the center of 160-acre Balboa Lake Park.
The position of this neighborhood remained significantly debatable till 2006. However, the Los Angeles City Council officially renamed a large part of Van Nuys Lake Balboa in 2007. This area includes many new boundaries that were previously a part of Van Nuys.
These new boundaries were predominantly a compromised plan. However, Van Nuys Airport and the industrial area north of Saticoy Street east of the airport stayed with Van Nuys. Apart from that, many other streets and intersections become the new part of this newly formed town.
Northridge, Van Nuys, Sepulveda Basin, Reseda, Roscoe Boulevard, Balboa Place, the Van Nuys Airport, Hayvenhurst Avenue and Odessa Avenue, Victory Boulevard, and White Oak Avenue are some of the areas and streets that surround it.
Lake Balboa does not fall under a populous town. According to the census of 2000 in the U.S., 24,328 residents were living there, which increased to 26,195 in the year 2008. Although the neighborhood doesn't have a lot of population, it is still known as highly diverse in ethnicity.
It has the highest ratio of White Americans, and other ethnicities like Latinos and blacks have moderate demographics.
The neighborhood has many parks and recreation areas and has a headquarter of a toy-making company named MGA Entertainments.
Lake Balboa Park, Jesse Owens Mini-Park, Louise Park, the Japanese Garden, and Woodley Park are some of the main attractions in Lake Balboa. In addition, Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area Bike Path, Orange Line Bikeway are great places for cycling.
The neighborhood has many public and private schools and has the United States Postal Service Van Nuys Post Office.
