North Hollywood

North Hollywood, commonly called NoHo, is one of the most famous neighborhoods of San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California. This neighborhood is renowned for having diversity in thoughts and ideas. It is the center of modest residential blocks and is also known to be NoHo Art District.

Lankershim Ranch Land and Water Company established this town in 1887. Its name changed recurrently over the years. Toluca was its first name before being called Lankershim in 1896. Finally, in 1927, it got renamed North Hollywood.

There are many entertaining and art-related outlets in the town including, the El Portal Theatre, playhouses, art galleries, sound studios, and the Academy of TV Arts and Science.

The neighborhood is going through many development changes and progress since 2000. Apart from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, many other attractions are available in the area. Such as Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park and the most famous Universal Studio.

Antelope Valley Area Health Office and the San Fernando Valley Area Health Office come in North Hollywood. North Hollywood also has a Post Office that United Postal Services handle and manage.

It also comes under the few subway-accessible localities in Los Angeles. So in 1990, a subway connecting North Hollywood with Hollywood, East Hollywood, Koreatown, Westlake, downtown Los Angeles, and the Metro Rail Red Line was set up.

There are numerous schools developed in the region which includes twelve public schools and ten private ones. However, by 2000, eighteen percent of residents over the age of 25 have a four-year degree.

The North Hollywood Recreation Center and The Valley Plaza Recreation Center are the two centers that offer immense activities. They have a baseball diamond, basketball courts, auditorium, indoor gymnasium, outdoor seasonal pool, picnic tables, lawn tennis, and other events.
